We are so proud of these students who were all honored at the awards ceremony in the Viejas Arena last week: Victoria Scelfo (Behavioral Science) and Liam Ostadan (Animal Science) placed third in their categories; Kelsey McGrattan (Microbiology & Health Science), Emily Abts (Computer Science), and Noah Hernandez (Mechanical Engineering) placed second; Lael Czerniak (Biochemistry) and Sofia Velarde (Engineering, Energy & Transport) placed first in their categories. Sofia received additional awards from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, Society of American Military Engineers, Society of Women Engineers (San Diego County Section) and the US Naval Science Awards Program. Sofia has also been invited to participate in the State Science Fair in April. We are so proud of our Guardian Scientists! Congratulations to Mrs. Ryan, science teacher, and Barbara Chicca who was a tremendous support to the students during the Science Fair process.
