Students in fourth recently presented their amazing reports on the lives of famous people who have made lasting contributions in our world. Dressing as their famous person, students offered an oral presentation to an audience of classmates and parents.

Gifts from the Heart- Rady Children's Hospital

Preston, 6th grade, put stewardship and service into action by organizing and holding a very successful Book & Toy Drive providing gift bags containing 150 new books & 51 toys to children in Rady Children’s Hospital Cancer Unit. Preston would like to thank all the STGGCS families. His efforts will bring a smile to someone’s day. We applaud Preston for an outstanding attitude of service.

Second Grade Stewards

Maddie and Ellarose, second graders, have adopted our preschool as the beneficiary of their gift of service. During the summer, these entrepreneurs set up a Lemonade Stand and raised $49.38, also raising $69 the previous summer. They presented their donation to Mrs. Igou, preschool director, at Morning Assembly, and will select items for the preschool with Mrs. Igou in the near future. We are so proud of these Guardian stewards!

Theme for the School Year - Shaped to Serve

The theme for this school year is Shaped to Serve – “Lord, you are our Father, we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are the work of your hand.” Isaiah 64:8. The image of the potter and clay reminds us that we are being shaped by God through our life experiences and it instills in us a spirit of hope and faith that in times of celebration and challenge, God is in our midst. As Catholics, we recognize Jesus in all people we meet, and are called to serve each other in a spirit of love.

Guardian Scientist First in State!

Congratulations to seventh grader, S.V, who recently placed first in her category (Engineering, Energy & Transport) at the California State Science Fair in Los Angeles. Her project titled, “Which 3D Printed Wheel Could Operate Most Efficiently on Mars?” has already received additional awards from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, Society of American Military Engineers, Society of Women Engineers (San Diego County Section) and the US Naval Science Awards Program. We are so proud of this amazing Guardian scientist!
